In Class Work
Tutorial one:

what is engineering practice?
Engineering is an occupation with very wide reach. The term 'Engineering' covers numerous fields and, by augmentation, numerous aptitudes. Architects are researchers, creators, fashioners, manufacturers and extraordinary scholars. All engineer are required to enhance our lifestyle and work on building and innovating projects. Engineers do interact with other fields and they help enhancing all other fields with more advanced technologies.
Developing Employability
Do you lead teams?
I did lead team in introduction to civil and engineering communication subjects. I did contribute in presentation and AutoCAD work with my group.
Do you work independently?
Yeah, when it is required.
Do you have to be flexible in order to balance everything?
Yeah of course and this includes good time management.
Tutorial two:

1. What are the workplace supervisor’s expectations?
Work starts at 9 am and the supervisor expect all staff to be on time to work. Lunch break is 30 minutes long and can be taken anytime throughout the day. Also, all staff should attend dressed smart/casual not too formal.

2. In what ways did the interns meet these expectations?
Jimmy seemed to be more excited than the others because he asked more questions and seems more motivated than the others. Through the video he built a friendship with the supervisor and Lisa accepted the feedback she got from the supervisor and worked on what was told to her.
3. What behaviours seemed unusual or inappropriate to you?
Jimmy was not honest through the session, and making excuses to skip interviews and instead waste time playing games and scrolling through social media. He showed lack of interest and so lost the trust of the supervisor.
Tutorial three:

1. What did the intern do that caused dissatisfaction for the workplace supervisor?

Dissatisfaction was caused by the intern that was not organised. Also, she didn't contribute enough with other staff during meeting and so the supervisor wasn't pleased with her progress.

2. In what ways did the workplace supervisor communicate her dissatisfaction?
The supervisor was concerned about the intern progress in the workplace and she had to have a meeting asking the intern to try to work harder to be able pass the requirements. However, the intern ignored the supervisor and so, the supervisor had to contact the intern's University.

3. What is the key information that both these articles communicate?
Women are under-represented in the engineering workforce

4. What is your opinion on this information?

I personally think that females in general aren't interested in engineering and they tend to like things that include designing and sketching.
Tutorial 4:

What is in the intern’s workplan? How is it reviewed? What do you think you should include in your workplan?
the workplace of the intern is developing his experience and building up his career and skills in the field. this is reviewed by the supervisor as he or she examine the intern and the intern has to show interest in what he or she is doing and submit all the work on time and attend all meetings.in my workplan I try to show all my skills and my interest in the field I am working in.
Tutorial 5:

1. Which of the ethical theories does this students’ response most closely align with?
The students’ response most closely aligns with the theory of ethical egoism.
2. Chose one other ethical theory and write how you might respond to this Case Study using that approach.
Utilitarianism is based on human emotions and safety. The earth box need to be redesigned in order to have a safe light rail
3. With reference to the following article from the Sydney Morning Herald, what ethical and professional issues can you identify in the situation described?
The duty ethical theory was present as there was not enough safety information given to the workers.
4. Imagine you have just started a new internship or engineering job. What would you do if you did not get a ‘site induction’ or occupational health and safety induction?
I would inform my supervisor that I am not ready to work and I need to learn all the safety precautions before standing in the site.
